About Ullapool Fuel Station
Ullapool is the largest town on the entire western stretch of the NC500, and its fuel station is arguably the most important top-up point on the route's remote western leg. The picturesque harbour town has an excellent range of shops, restaurants, and a lively pub scene. The ferry to Stornoway (Lewis) departs from here, bringing additional traffic in summer. From Ullapool, the route heads north into increasingly wild and remote Sutherland, with the next fuel at Lochinver some 45 miles away.

🚐 Motorhome Tip
Ullapool is the biggest settlement on the north-west coast — fill up here without question. It's also where the Stornoway ferry departs from, so can be very busy in summer.

⚠️ NC500 Fuel Warning: Fuel stations on the North Coast 500 can be very far apart, especially on the west and north coasts. Some stretches exceed 50 miles with no fuel available. Many stations close early and are not open on Sundays. Always fill up when you can — do not wait until the low-fuel warning light appears.
