About Gairloch Filling Station

Gairloch is a small but lively village on the western coast of Ross-shire with a beautiful sandy bay, a heritage museum, and whale-watching boat trips in season. The filling station is a vital lifeline on this remote stretch — from Gairloch, it's a significant distance in any direction to the next fuel. Combine your stop with a walk on Big Sand beach or a meal at the excellent Mountain Coffee Company.

🚐 Motorhome Tip One of the most remote fuel points on the entire route. Prices will be higher here — don't grumble, the scenery more than compensates. Sunday opening hours are limited.

⚠️ NC500 Fuel Warning: Fuel stations on the North Coast 500 can be very far apart, especially on the west and north coasts. Some stretches exceed 50 miles with no fuel available. Many stations close early and are not open on Sundays. Always fill up when you can — do not wait until the low-fuel warning light appears.
