About Lochinver Fuel
Lochinver is a charming fishing village and the administrative centre of the remote Assynt region. Famous among foodies for the Lochinver Larder (makers of the best pies in Scotland), and among hillwalkers for nearby Suilven and Canisp. The fuel station is a critical stop — from Ullapool heading north, this is the only reliable fuel for around 45 miles. Beyond Lochinver, the next fuel is at Scourie. Sunday closure catches many travellers out.

⚠️ NC500 Fuel Warning: Fuel stations on the North Coast 500 can be very far apart, especially on the west and north coasts. Some stretches exceed 50 miles with no fuel available. Many stations close early and are not open on Sundays. Always fill up when you can — do not wait until the low-fuel warning light appears.
