About Tain Service Station
Tain is a Royal Burgh on the southern shore of the Dornoch Firth and a significant fuel stop on the A9 leg of the NC500. This service station is conveniently placed near the town centre. Tain is also the home of Glenmorangie Distillery, just a couple of miles to the north, making this a natural point to pause, refuel, and perhaps arrange a distillery tour.

⚠️ NC500 Fuel Warning: Fuel stations on the North Coast 500 can be very far apart, especially on the west and north coasts. Some stretches exceed 50 miles with no fuel available. Many stations close early and are not open on Sundays. Always fill up when you can — do not wait until the low-fuel warning light appears.
